A Nigerian actor has openly criticized Lagos churches over what he perceives as classist practices in their seating arrangements.

In a post shared via Instagram, he questioned why churches often reserve the first rows for certain individuals, typically latecomers or prominent members, while early arrivals are relegated to the back.

    He wrote:

“Dear Lagos Churches, you say service starts at 9am, but you reserve the first three rows of seats for people who stroll into church at 10:30am. Meanwhile, those who showed up at 8:30am — thirty minutes before service time — are made to sit behind. Please make it make sense.”

The actor further argued that classism, though often associated with society, also appears within religious spaces.

He remarked that this contradicts the true essence of Christianity, which emphasizes equality before God.

“Classism is a human construct you think wouldn’t show up at certain spaces, but then again ‘human’ is the operative word here. Thank God salvation is personal and a relationship with God is very individual,” he added.

@_temiitope I just finally agree with the notion that most church as an organization is a business centre.I recently moved into my new space, managed by The Apostolic Lawna and they are charging extra on electricity recharge, way above Nepa fee o
I paid 10k they recharged 4800.Went to the church to find out why, the committees have been removing theirselves one after the other aiming ignorance with promises to find out why.
    I am so disappointed
    May God help us

@imkingdinero1 This particular issue na make me wan throw blow give protocol my own na parking space , I no first like front row but why you go reserve parking space for one late comer ?
