The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the Black Stars of Ghana will take on Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, 2024, in the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
According to ghanafa.org, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved the Accra Stadium after it underwent renovation works to improve the state of the facility to meet international standards.
This comes after concerns were raised about the venue where the Black Stars will play against Niger, following CAF’s ban on the Baba Yara Stadium from hosting high-profile games due to poor facilities.
The Black Stars were unimpressive when they played two matches against Sudan in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, missing quite a number of chances.
The team drew goalless against Sudan at home and lost by two goals to zero in the return leg encounter in Libyan.
After four matches played, Ghana are third in Group F with two points, Sudan are in second place with seven points, while Angola leads with twelve points.
The Black Stars will travel to face Angola and play the last match against Niger in Ghana in November 2024.
