The National Sports Authority (NSA) has assured the public that the Accra Sports Stadium pitch will not be damaged during the prayer conference hosted by Nigerian pastor Jerry Eze on November 1, 2025.
The NSA noted that measures have been put in place to protect the pitch by limiting access to the field. The event will be hosted in the stands, where spectators will be seated, and the platform or stage for officials leading the session will be set up off the pitch.

“In the meantime, the NSA has adopted a revised approach that includes restricting access to the pitch area during events, hosting such events primarily from the stands, and deploying barriers and adequate security personnel to enforce these restrictions,” the statement read.
“The NSA assures all sports fans that the Accra Sports Stadium will be in excellent condition to host upcoming major matches, including the highly anticipated fixture between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.”
The Authority also disclosed that plans to acquire pitch covers are underway and are expected to be finalised by the end of 2025.
“The Authority recognises the importance of balancing sporting and non-sporting activities that contribute to stadium sustainability. A strategy to acquire specialised pitch covers for use during non-sporting events has been activated, with acquisition and delivery scheduled before the end of the year,” the NSA added.
