The Accra Sports Stadium pitch remained in its original state after Medikal’s ‘Beyond Kontrol’ concert held on Sunday, December 13, 2025.

Prior to the concert, the National Sports Authority (NSA) installed pitch covers to protect the turf from damage.

After the event, parts of the pitch covers were taken off, revealing that the grass remained lush and green, with no visible patches.

A video of the pitch, which surfaced online, has been praised by football fans, who commended the Director-General of the NSA, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, for taking steps to procure pitch covers through a public–private partnership.

In previous years, events at the stadium drew criticisms from fans who were upset that the pitch was often damaged after concerts due to unavailability of pitch covers.

Rapper Medikal’s concert attracted a large crowd for his much‑anticipated Beyond Kontrol Concert.

The highly talked‑about musical spectacle, held at the Accra Sports Stadium, featured a star‑studded lineup of A‑list artistes and delivered an unforgettable Detty December experience for thousands of music lovers.
