Black Stars defender Abdul Mumin has been ruled out for the rest of the 2024/2025 season after sustaining a knee injury.

According to Rayo Vallecano reporter Sergio Nava, the defender’s injury is first-degree and, thus, he will not feature for the club for the remainder of the season.

Mumin picked up the injury during Rayo Vallecano’s 1-1 draw with Sevilla on March 1. The defender played 39 minutes before being forced off.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate was one of the key and most consistent players for Rayo this season.

He has played 24 games in La Liga this season, starting all. He could not complete two of those.

He has missed only two games out of 26 in La Liga, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Rayo Vallecano will now be without their reliable centre-back for the remaining 12 games in the league.

The Madrid-based side sits 7th on the table with 36 points as they push for European football next season.
