President John Dramani Mahama has described the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, as a source of inspiration and strong pillar for the Asante Kingdom and Ghana.

In a tribute read on his behalf by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, at the final funeral rites on Thursday, September 18, 2025, President Mahama acknowledged her profound influence in Asanteman and also in the country.

“She was, without a doubt, a majestic pillar of strength and inspiration not only to the Manhyia Palace and the Asanteman but to the entire nation,” Dr Amoakohene read.

President Mahama lauded Nana Konadu Yiadom III for upholding Asante values, preserving tradition and promoting peace.

“Throughout her 8-year reign, she embodied the true essence of Asante values, maintaining tradition with steadfast dedication and projecting an image of dignity and peace.

“Her wise counsel and astute guidance were invaluable. She was truly an inspiration and a worthy role model, particularly for the women of Asanteman and Ghana at large,” the tribute read.

The late Asantehemaa passed away on August 7, 2025.

She was the 14th Asantehemaa and the biological sister of the Asantehene.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, ascended the stool in 2017, following the passing of her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.

The four-day funeral rites, which commenced on Monday, September 15, are expected to conclude with her burial on September 18, 2025.
