Numerous people are thought to have died in a fatal crash on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway.

Following a terrible crash near the community of Ayensudo, which is located along the busy Cape Coast–Takoradi route, a number of persons are believed dead. According to a report by Takoradi’s Connect FM, the incident happened early on Monday.

Two business minibuses, referred to locally as “trotro,” were involved in the collision. The two cars were white and orange, respectively. A disturbing image of the aftermath that is making the rounds on social media depicts several bodies on the ground.

Although the reason of the accident has not yet been established, preliminary indications indicate that it was caused by a head-on collision. Witnesses reported a very strong accident that seriously damaged both automobiles. The white bus had fewer casualties, with multiple people suffering varying degrees of injuries, whereas almost all of the passengers aboard the orange bus apparently perished instantly.

Responders quickly arrived to rescue surviving and take injured people to local hospitals for medical care. To find out what caused the collision, police have started an inquiry.

Residents in the area, who hurried to the scene, expressed their profound sadness and demanded stricter enforcement of traffic laws along the Cape Coast–Takoradi highway, which has been the scene of numerous accidents in recent years.

While officials try to inform the impacted families, the identities of the dead and injured have not yet been made public. Many Ghanaians have shown their sympathy and support for the victims and their loved ones on social media.

This tragic accident serves as a clear warning that in order to stop such terrible losses, drivers must exercise greater vigilance and strictly follow traffic laws.
