In a bid to explore Africa’s Heritage, the African Art Mart, in collaboration with Beyond the Return, is thrilled to announce the “Beyond the Icons: A Celebration of African Legends” Art and Photo Exhibition, set to take place at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park from Saturday, December 21st to Tuesday, December 31st, 2024.

This groundbreaking exhibition will honour the lives, legacies, and achievements of Africa’s most influential figures, offering visitors a visual journey through the continent’s rich history and culture.

The 10-day event will stage stunning artworks by renowned artists, including Sharon Dede Padiki, Philip Kumah, and Audrey Bruce. Featured icons range from Ghana’s own Kwame Nkrumah and Nelson Mandela to Haile Selassie, Martin Luther King Jr., and Maya Angelou, among others.

To make the exhibition even more engaging, African Art Mart has lined up exciting activities for attendees:

Exclusive Art Displays: Marvel at curated collections celebrating African legends.

Interactive Sessions with Artists: Meet the creators behind the masterpieces.

Cultural Performances: Immerse yourself in vibrant cultural expressions inspired by the icons.

With daily opening hours from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the event promises to attract art enthusiasts, cultural historians, and the public looking to explore Africa’s extraordinary narrative in an inspiring setting.

Speaking on the exhibition, the Chief Executive Officer of Africa Art Mart, Mrs. Patricia Kodjo Kumah, said, “This exhibition transcends individual achievements. It is a tribute to the shared resilience, innovation, and impact of African legends who have shaped the world. Beyond celebrating their lives, it’s about encouraging today’s generation to embrace their legacy and redefine Africa’s future.”

The “Beyond the Icons” exhibition will provide a platform for reflection, celebration, and inspiration. Visitors will leave with a deeper understanding of Africa’s rich heritage and the remarkable individuals who have paved the way.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to honour Africa’s trailblazers and be part of a cultural celebration like no other.
