House Republicans slam Dems for using Epstein probe to attack Trump as House moves to release files TODAY: Live updates

By RACHEL BOWMAN, US NEWS REPORTER

    Updated: 09:44 EST, 18 November 2025

The House of Representatives will vote today on a bill forcing the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files after Donald Trump encouraged Republicans to support the publication while calling for an investigation into Democrats‘ connections with the disgraced financier.

Shortly before the vote, a group of bipartisan representatives will host a press conference with Epstein survivors to ‘discuss next steps’ for the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

After dismissing the investigation as a hoax, Trump made a U-turn Sunday night and told Republicans to pass the bill.

On Monday, the president stated that he would sign the bill if it were to land on his desk after passing in the Senate.

Follow along for the latest updates.

House set to vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files

The House of Representatives will vote today on a bill to publicly release all of the files related to the sex trafficking investigation of Jeffrey Epstein.

If passed in the House, the bill would be sent to the Senate, where Majority Leader John Thune has not indicated whether he will bring the matter up for a vote.

If the bill is passed in the Senate, it would head to Donald Trump’s desk for his approval.

Trump has said he would sign the bill while insisting he has nothing to hide.

MTG jokes ‘hell has froze over’ during Epstein survivors press conference

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene cracked a joke about standing alongside her Democratic colleagues during the Epstein survivors’ press conference.

‘I woke up this morning and I turned to my weather app to check the temperature, and it was 32 degrees, and my first thought was, hell has frozen over,’ she said.

‘These women have fought the most horrific fight that no woman should have to fight, and they did it by banding together and never giving up.’

Greene also addressed her falling out with Donald Trump over the Epstein files.

‘I’ve never owed him anything, but I fought for him, for the policies and for America first, and he called me a “traitor” for standing with these women and refusing to take my name off the discharge petition,’ she said.

‘A traitor is an American that serves foreign countries and themselves. A patriot is an American that serves the United States of America and Americans like the women standing behind me.’

Donald Trump lost his cool on a reporter who asked about Republican lawmakers voting to release the Epstein files.

Over the weekend on Air Force One, Trump snapped at a female journalist after being repeatedly pressed by reporters regarding the files.

Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey appears to ask the president a question relating to Epstein before the president begins waving a finger in her face.

‘Quiet, quiet piggy!’ Trump yelled at the journalist while she stood off camera during a November 14th press pool.

    Democrat Ro Khanna praises MTG

Democrat Representative Ro Khanna kicked off the Epstein survivor press conference by praising Marjorie Taylor Greene.

‘There was so much pressure against her, but she stood with the survivors,’ Khanna said.

‘I expect an overwhelming vote in the House of Representatives, and I don’t want the DC swamp playing any games. They need to pass this in the Senate. They should not amend it. President Trump has said he would sign the Epstein Transparency Act.’

Larry Summers ‘stepping back’ from public life after Epstein emails

‘I am deeply ashamed of my actions and recognize the pain they have caused. I take full responsibility for my misguided decision to continue communicating with Mr. Epstein,’ Summers said in a statement.

‘While continuing to fulfill my teaching obligations, I will be stepping back from public commitments as one part of my broader effort to rebuild trust and repair relationships with the people closest to me.’

Revealed: The truth behind Trump’s Epstein file reversal

President Donald Trump’s sudden pivot on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files was not an impulsive gamble but a tactical move to end a months-long drama that has consumed the White House and Congress.

Trump raged at reporters on Sunday night in Palm Beach as he walked to Air Force One, berating them for asking about the convicted sex offender instead of lowering living costs for Americans.

‘I don’t want to talk about it,’ Trump snapped, blasting ‘fake news like you’ and the ‘terrible reporter’ who dared to raise the subject.

Then, in a sudden shift, Trump said Sunday night that ‘House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files.’
