The previous record which dates back 2019 was set by renowned non-profit initiative, Equal Playing Field, featured 53 nationalities during an exhibition game in Lyon, France.

As the world’s football governing body with 211 members, the achievement which was certified by officials of the famous Guinness World Record on site, further underlines FIFA’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has been a champion of inclusion and togetherness coupled with his involvement in recent high-profile gatherings such as the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit, United Nations General Assembly amongst others.

The record serves as a perfect build up ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final between Korea DPR and Netherlands on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

This is the first time the global cadet championship is held on African soil.
