President John Dramani Mahama has described German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier as a true friend and partner of Ghana, emphasising the importance of Africa’s development to global peace and prosperity.
Speaking at a high-level meeting with his guest on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the Presidency in Accra, President Mahama stated, “In President Steinmeier, Ghana has found not just a partner, but a friend who recognises that Africa’s development is crucial to global peace and prosperity, and that genuine partnerships must be based on equality, mutual respect, and shared benefits.”

President Mahama also reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to attracting German private sector investments, particularly within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), describing it as a strategic gateway to a continental market of over 1.3 billion people.
“The African Continental Free Trade Area offers unparalleled opportunities for German and other businesses to enter a market of over 1.3 billion people across the continent, with Ghana positioned as the strategic gateway and partner,” he noted.
President Steinmeier is on a three-day state visit to Ghana from Sunday, November 2 to Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral relations between Ghana and Germany, focusing on trade, investment, technology, and development cooperation.
