Leicester City have come under mounting criticism for what fans describe as a “deliberate and disrespectful” pattern involving Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew.

After nearly every defeat this season, the club’s social media accounts have posted full-time graphics featuring Ayew’s image, a pattern so consistent that many fans now see it as intentional mockery rather than coincidence.

The most recent instance came on Saturday, November 1, 2025, following Leicester’s 2–0 loss to Blackburn Rovers at the King Power Stadium.

As the final whistle blew and the full-time post appeared on social media, there he was again, Ayew, caught mid-expression of frustration, once more becoming the unwilling face of Leicester’s latest setback.

But that was far from the first time. After a 2-1 defeat to Hull City in October, Ayew was the player chosen again. Then came the 1–1 home draw with Wrexham, when, despite Leicester avoiding defeat, the media team once more used his image for the full-time update.

It had happened earlier, too, after the loss to Preston North End in August, and again during their October trip to Millwall. Another disappointing result, another graphic, and once again, Ayew’s face front and center.

Over time, fans began to notice the pattern. The posts, now forming a collage of frustration and defeat, all seemed to share one common element: Jordan Ayew.

While some fans joked about it online, others have taken issue with what they view as unfair symbolism, arguing that Ayew, one of the few senior players consistently giving his all, has somehow become the visual representation of failure.
