Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has been called up to Portugal's U16 team Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has been called up to Portugal’s U16 team

Cristiano Ronaldo’s football legacy looks set to continue, as his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., has earned his first call-up to the Portugal U16 national team following a string of impressive performances for Al-Nassr’s youth academy in Saudi Arabia.

The 15-year-old has been steadily rising through the ranks since joining his father in the Middle East.

His eye-catching displays for Al-Nassr’s junior sides have not gone unnoticed by Portugal’s youth selectors, who have now included him in their squad for the upcoming Federations Cup U16 tournament in Antalya, Turkey, scheduled for October 30 to November 4, 2025.

For Cristianinho, football was always in his blood. But following in the footsteps of one of the greatest players in history comes with immense pressure. Still, those who have watched him closely say he’s carving out his own path, and doing so with flair, confidence, and a growing sense of maturity.

Did Francis Amuzu complete his switch to represent Ghana in 2023?

This will be his second international tournament after previously representing Portugal’s U15 side at the Vlatko Markovic Tournament in Croatia. During that competition, he made an instant impact, scoring two goals in the final against the host nation.

Interestingly, Cristianinho has been deployed primarily as a left winger, the same position his father famously played during his early days at Sporting CP and Manchester United before evolving into one of the game’s most prolific goal scorers.
