The Young Atlas Lions of Morocco have been crowned as the champions of juvenile football in the World.

Morocco defeated 6 times World champions, Argentina in the finals on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Chile to become the second African country to win the U-20 World Cup.

In front of the over 48,000 spectators at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos, a first half brace from 20-year-old Yassir Zabiri sealed an empathic 2-0 victory for Morocco over the South American side.

Morocco reached the final by beating South Korea, the United States and France in the knockout rounds before downing Argentina to cap an impressive run.

It was the first loss in the tournament for Argentina, who was aiming for its seventh title.

Meanwhile, the Black Satellites were the first African team to win the U-20 FIFA World Cup. Ghana beat Brazil on penalties to make that history in 2009.
