Wydad Athletic Club have taken over social media in Ghana, not just for football reasons, but for the sheer quality of their media work. Ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round clash with Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

The Moroccan giants trained at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon, and their training footage has gone viral.

The video, shared by the club, captured Wydad’s session in cinematic style, crisp drone shots, slow-motion drills, sharp editing, and perfectly timed music.

It highlights the players’ focus and intensity under the evening sun, but beyond that, it has sparked a larger conversation about presentation, professionalism, and how Ghanaian clubs market their brands.

Ghanaian fans have flooded social media, not just to admire the visuals but to express frustration at what they see as a missed opportunity for local teams.

Many pointed out that the video was filmed on the same University of Ghana pitch available to local sides, yet Wydad’s media team managed to make it look world-class.

The sentiments online are clear: Ghanaian clubs need to take media and content creation more seriously.

Supporters are calling for professional videographers, creative direction, and collaboration with university graduates to elevate the storytelling around local football.
