Dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has expressed his views on how the government can treat its citizens better in the country.

In an interview on JoyPrime on October 15, 2025, the self-proclaimed King of African dancehall noted that the government should treat its citizens with utmost respect.

Referring to his recent saga with the EOCO, the “On God” singer explained that the incident didn’t affect only his brand but the whole creative arts industry, adding that how he was treated was not fair.

“It did not only affect my brand. I believe it affects the whole creative sector. It might be Shatta Wale today, the next time it might be you… I am not bigger than the law of this country. I am in love, but I don’t let it get into my head.

“I feel when there is a problem in this country… the way we want to handle the president’s problem when he is sick, how we hide him in the car and fly him to America, is the same way we need to handle every important person in this country,” he said.

Shatta Wale, during the interview, additionally claimed that his craft has generated more revenue for the country than the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Tourism.

“I can boldly say that I have made more money than the Ministry of Finance… I have brought more money into the country than the Ministry of Finance and Tourism. I have created jobs,” he added.
