Ghanaian music star Kofi Kinaata is still basking in the glory and reaping the benefits of an acknowledgement by the King of the Ashanti Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Speaking in an interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, Kofi Kinaata, who recently performed at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic: The Homecoming Edition at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, revealed that the acknowledgement by the Asantehene offered him several opportunities, including a surge in his streaming and social media numbers.

“Kumasi is becoming a hotspot for me, especially since the endorsement came. The endorsement did a lot for me. It brought in some corporate shows, and my numbers also increased,” he said.

In September 2024, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, mentioned Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata in a speech during a Ghana Bar Association event, commending the wisdom and message of appreciation in his song “Susuka”.

He used Kinaata’s song “Susuka” as an example to illustrate the importance of local music and to encourage Ghanaians to value appreciation and satisfaction.
