Black Princesses head coach, Charles Sampson, has reaffirmed that his team’s ultimate goal is to qualify for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after cruising past Tunisia in the qualifiers.

Ghana’s U-20 women’s side booked their place in the next stage with a dominant 6-0 aggregate victory, having secured a 2-0 win in the first leg before completing the job with a 4-0 triumph in the return fixture.

Speaking after the match, Sampson praised his players’ performance but stressed the importance of maintaining focus as they prepare for tougher challenges ahead.

“Our goal is to qualify for the World Cup, but our intention is to go step by step. Now that we are done with this [Tunisia], our next focus turns to the next match, which is against South Africa,” he said after the game.”

The coach revealed he had already assessed South Africa, who defeated Eswatini 5-0 in the first leg of their previous tie.

“I have already watched them in the first leg [against Eswatini], where they scored five goals. I have an idea of their team. We are up to the task; our aim is to go to the World Cup, so any opponent we get, we will study them and work towards how we can outweigh them,” he added.

The Black Princesses will face South Africa in the next round of qualifiers, scheduled for early next year.
