Rapper Sarkodie isn’t just writing lyrics about success, he has labelled music as one of the ultimate investments, capable of rivaling even real estate.
In an interview with NYDJ, Sarkodie explained that the music industry offers financial opportunities that compete with some of the world’s most lucrative sectors.
According to him, while many people underestimate the earning potential of music, those in the business understand just how rewarding it can be.
Sarkodie breaks silence on alleged NPP affiliation
Sarkodie illustrated his point by comparing music to traditional industries like manufacturing and product-based businesses.
He explained that in manufacturing, investors are burdened with ongoing expenses, including equipment maintenance, staff salaries, and daily operational costs.
But music, he said, operates differently.
He said once the creative work is done, the returns can continue indefinitely, with far fewer overhead costs.
The rapper further urged investors to take the industry seriously and consider backing talented artistes.
Sarkodie is the greatest rapper of all time in terms of metrics – Kojo Cue asserts
“If anybody tells you that music doesn’t make money, they’re lying. One of the best industries you can get into is music. One of the best investments you can make is up there with real estate; it’s up there with any product you can think about. Music is the same, and it’s even better than a lot of products. Because with most products, you have to sit down and do servicing.
“You’re still paying staff; you’re paying people to keep it running. If you’re doing drinks, the machines have to be greased, you have people doing all this labour, and you’re paying. Music doesn’t take that. It’s in the air, and you’re making money. It doesn’t get better than that. So, I would urge investors to come in fully and support the artiste,” Sarkodie stated.
