Ghanaian comedian Lekzy DeComic has criticised the leadership style in the country, describing it as outdated and unfit for today’s fast-evolving world.

In an interview with Nana Romeo, shared on Instagram on September 23, 2025, Lekzy expressed concern over what he sees as a generational disconnect between those in power and the youth they govern.

He explained that most leaders in the country prefer to see the younger generations suffer the same way they did during their youth.

“It is just said because we still have analog leaders in digital positions. We have people who will tell you that driving an automatic car isn’t right because you have to learn how to drive a manual first. Their mindset is that you have to suffer like how they did,” he said.

Lekzy further expressed displeasure with some media houses in the country.

According to him, media outlets in the country are interested in channelling negativity instead of positivity.

“If I tell Ghanaian journalists that I have a program so they should write a story about it, they will refuse, but assuming I was beaten in South Africa. You will see the way they will write the story with me paying for anything.

Not everyone needs to speak on every topic in the entertainment industry – Lekzy DeComic

“Even radio stations will interview for free. When Partey was accused of rape. See how all media houses spread the news. Meanwhile, most of them are not sports channels,” he added.
