Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has broken her silence on her alleged rift with colleague Davido. She had shed light on the tension between them and revealed why it led her to seek police protection.
In an interview on The Breakfast Club, Tiwa Savage clarified that despite public speculation about their strained relationship, she holds no grudges against Davido.

According to her, their bond is rooted in mutual respect.
“I haven’t spoken to you, Davido, but I do want you to know that I do love you and I would never betray you or like take sides,” she said.
She explained that the tension between them stemmed from what she believes was a misunderstanding.
“I think it was a miscommunication. I think out of anger, maybe he might have made threats,” Tiwa Savage noted.

She admitted she did not think Davido would act on those alleged threats, but she could not afford to ignore the risks.
“He might have made threats, but do I think he was really going to go ahead with it? No, but again I’m not taking any risks. You could be saying it around people who wanna now act out on what you’re saying,” she said.
Savage added that before making an official report, she tried to address the matter privately.
She reached out to senior members of Davido’s family in hopes of resolving the issue but said her efforts were unsuccessful.
“Before I did that, though I reached out to members of his family, I’m not gonna say names, but people that are older than him, and I said okay, I’m hearing threats, can we solve this, and none of them came back to me. Just for the record, before I do anything can we solve this?” she said.
