Outspoken media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has established that the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is the most powerful king on the African continent.

According to her, the Ashanti Kingdom holds greater prestige and authority than any other in Africa, particularly because its celebrations bring together people from diverse backgrounds.

The television personality dismissed criticisms from some individuals on social media who sought to undermine the authority of the Asantehene, stressing that he has no equal, neither in Ghana nor across the continent.

Meaning behind Otumfuo’s sacred porcupine crown worn at Asantehemaa’s funeral

“It’s the way every celebration from the kingdom unites Ghana. People come from all walks of life, it speaks to the unity of this country and the immense power the Ashanti king wields. I see people saying all sorts of things about the Asantehene, masa, sit down!

“He is the Ashanti king. There is none like him in Africa. He is the most powerful king in Africa, and we have to respect and revere the Ashantis and this celebration,” she said in Twi while speaking on United Showbiz, aired on UTV on September 20, 2025.

Nana Aba went on to commend the organisers of the ‘Do Te Yie’ funeral for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, for the orderliness of the event.

She also praised the global display of Ashanti culture, describing it as exceptional.

“This funeral, you don’t have to be an Ashanti to admire what is happening there. I’m a Fante, but you cannot take away the culture, history, tradition, and authority of the Ashanti Kingdom. It compares to none,” she added.
