By MAX ALDRED, NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA

    Published: 04:19 EDT, 20 September 2025 | Updated: 04:19 EDT, 20 September 2025

Aldi has recalled its home brand vegetable dumplings after glass was found inside them less than two months after they were pulled from shelves for a different issue.

The notice applies to the 750g packs of Urban Eats Japanese Style Vegetable Gyoza with best-before dates between April 10, 2027, and June 15, 2027.

The product had been sold at Aldi stores in New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, the warning said on Friday.

‘The recall is due to the presence of foreign matter – glass,’ Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) said on Friday.

‘Food products containing glass may cause illness or injury if consumed. Consumers should not eat this product.’

Customers were told to return the packs to the store they bought them from and, if they need further information, call Aldi Stores Food Recall Hotline at 1800 709 993.

It follows Aldi’s recall of the same gyoza product in July over fears glass was present in the dumplings.

The earlier recall was for packs that had a best-before date of March 27, 2027, which had been sold nationwide.

In a separate recall notice also issued on Friday, bowls of Fine Food WA’s crunchy brown rice salad were withdrawn over potential Listeria contamination.

The product, with a use-by date of September 22, 2025, has been available at Woolworths stores in WA.

‘Listeria monocytogenes may cause severe illness in pregnant women, unborn babies, (newborns), the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals,’ FSANZ said.

‘The general population can also become ill from consuming food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.’

‘Consumers should not eat this product.’

Shoppers have been advised to return affected items for a refund, and anyone concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
