The University of Ghana Rugby pitch in Legon will this Sunday be full of fireworks as defending champions, Bulls RLFC, lock horns with three-time champions, Skolars RLFC, in the grand finale of the 2025 Men’s Rugby League 13s Championship.

Bulls, the 2019 and 2024 champions, head back to the final after a nail-biting 16–14 win over the Nungua Tigers in the playoffs played on Sunday.

It was the third time the two sides were meeting this season, and for the third time, the Bulls came out on top, ending the Tigers’ dream of reaching their first-ever grand final.

Tigers started the match full of energy with Godfred Aikins scoring a try in the third minute, after which Bulls hit back through Leslie Boadu, with Aikins crossing the line again in the 30th minute.

Just before the break, Kofi Montchon added another try and kicked the extra points, sending the Tigers into a commanding 14–4 lead.

But in the second half, everything was turned around as Richard Browne became the hero for the Bulls, scoring just after the restart and adding another in the 56th minute, converting his own try to give the Bulls the lead for the first time.

With the game almost over, Browne held his nerve and kicked a penalty to secure the dramatic 16–14 victory.

The victory sees Bulls move to 22 points, one better than Tigers and two points shy of the leaders Skolars.

They will now face the 2021, 2022, and 2023 league winners Skolars, whom they dethroned last year to be champions, in a showdown that promises fireworks.
