Veteran gospel musician Piesie Esther has advised aspiring gospel artistes to be resilient and have a strong spiritual foundation to survive the challenges of the music industry.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime, the “Mo” singer stated that mental toughness and deep faith are essential for longevity and success in the gospel music industry.

“In this industry, you need to be tough and hold on to God tightly because when you adhere to God’s will, He takes care of your needs for you. If you don’t toughen yourself in this workspace, I tell you that you won’t be able to survive,” she said.

Speaking from her own experience, Piesie Esther acknowledged that she has faced both support and criticism throughout her career.

“I have encountered a lot of things, and God has brought us this far. Sometimes, the attitude some people show you makes you feel like you don’t belong. But when you know where you’re going, you’ll not allow anybody to cause you to lose focus,” she added.

She urged new gospel musicians to remain focused, seek divine direction, and trust that determination will ultimately lead to a breakthrough.
