The Guinness World Records body has officially confirmed popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, for the world record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
The official confirmation came from Guinness World Records via their social media channels, which posted: “New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
The feat, which took place on September 12, 2025, saw Hilda Baci, in partnership with Gino, prepare the dish at the World Jollof Festival held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Thousands of people gathered at the nine-hour cooking event, witnessing the giant pot of jollof rice and being helped to some samples from the dish.
Hilda Baci, who first gained major recognition for her 2023 cook-a-thon marathon, used this event also to highlight Nigerian culinary culture and to feed thousands at no cost.
In reaction to the confirmation by the body, Hilda posted, “We have done it again.”
