Award-winning Highlife singer-songwriter Akwaboah Jnr has revealed the advice rapper Sarkodie gave him on how to deal with trolls online.
In an interview on Joy Prime, the versatile singer, who has been the victim of harsh comments on social media pertaining to his looks and personal life, shared how he obtained valuable advice on how to manage criticism on social media.
Explaining how the lesson came about, Akwaboah recalled that after Sarkodie dropped a collaboration with American rapper Ace Hood in 2015, the rapper was bombarded with harsh feedback.
“I was really upset and asked why there was so much backlash. Sark just told me, Welcome to the world; this is exactly what you’re going to see once you’re up there and this is how you must answer or respond,” Akwaboah shared.

Akwaboah added that although his father has guided him in many parts of the music business, it was Sarkodie who specifically instructed him in dealing with trolls; his father, he says, often responded in anger.
While Akwaboah has learnt to largely ignore negative comments, he admits that he is still human and sometimes the negativity gets to him. Still, he says, he’s learnt to control his reactions.
