The mother of an 18-year-old stabbed to death with a kitcken knife by a 15-year-old girl in a cocaine-fulled frenzy has lashed out at the murderer’s release – describing it as a ‘ticking time bomb’.

Samantha Madgin, who had recently became a mother herself, was enjoying her first night out since giving birth to her son Callum, when she was knifed repeatedly by Jordan Jobson in Wallsend, North Tyneside in August 2007.

Killer Jobson, who was just 15, launched the unprovoked attack after binging on alcohol and drugs and left the new mother with 43 cuts including 10 deep stab wounds before she bled to death.

After hearing some of her friends had been involved in a street fight, she attacked Samantha, who was not involved, with a kitchen knife before fleeing the scene.

Jobson, from Walker in Newcastle, was convicted of murder and jailed for life. She was originally handed a minimum term of 15 years, which was reduced to 11 years after two appeals.

She was eligible for parole in 2018 but her release was delayed after she reportedly threatened another inmate.

It was delayed again in 2019 when she failed to comply with conditions after she was allowed out on day release.

Jobson was eventually released in 2020 but ended up back behind bars within six months after breaching her licence conditions.

The murderer was again quietly released in 2022 – and Samantha’s mother has now warned that it is only a matter of time before she commits another similar crime.

Alison Madgin, 60, said that Jobson’s five parole attempts show she hasn’t taken accountability for the murder.

The grandmother, who raised Samantha’s son from just 10 weeks old, told The Sun: ‘It shows she couldn’t give a s**t. She couldn’t care less. If she had any remorse she’d say, ‘I hold my hands up, I’ll do my time’

‘She didn’t even plead guilty, she tried to say it was self defence. She has no understanding of the destruction she’s caused our family.

‘She’s been released and recalled twice. I don’t believe anyone like that can change and it’s been proven given she was recalled to prison’.

Alison, who has been awarded an MBE, alongside Samantha’s sister Carly Barrett, for services to the prevention of knife crime, also revealed the family have been taunted by Jobson’s friends when they visited HMP Newton Hall to try and block one of her parole attempts.

She also claimed that Jobson now lives just ten minutes away from the family, and she fears bumping into her in the supermarket.

Alison said that her daughter enjoyed a ‘normal and happy’ life.

She previously revealed that she thought police had made a mistake when they told her Samantha was in hospital.

‘I’ll always remember thinking that they’ve definitely made a mistake because Samantha wouldn’t even be in that situation where she could get stabbed,’ she said.

‘But as soon as I got the hospital I knew, there were police everywhere. I could tell by their faces that it was serious.’

‘I still didn’t expect them to say that she’d gone. We were only allowed to see her through a glass screen,’ she said. ‘I just remember banging on the glass, trying to get her to wake up.’
