The family of late highlife musician Dada KD has confirmed a new date for his final funeral rites, rescheduling the ceremony yet again after earlier postponements.

Initially planned for August 16, following a week-long observation, the funeral was shifted to September 6–7. That date, however, has now been moved.

At a press briefing, relatives announced that the state-assisted service will take place on September 20, 2025, at Ghana’s State House. After the ceremony, Dada KD’s remains will be transported to his hometown, Agona-Asamang, for burial.

Family representatives explained that the ban on funerals imposed by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II influenced the latest change. They appealed to Ghanaians and supporters abroad for understanding and solidarity during this difficult time.

Dada KD passed away on May 16, 2025, after a short illness.
