After battling mental illness for several years, Ghanaian Hiplife musician Okomfour Kwadee has reappeared in the media space, this time, looking stable and composed.

In an interview with Kumawood actor Kwaku Manu, shared on social media on August 11, 2025, Okomfour Kwadee advised Ghanaian youth to desist from using opioids, particularly a substance known as “Red” or “225.”

He explained that the “Red” pill is highly addictive and offers no benefit to the individual, adding that he had experimented with other stimulants in the past, which had a negative impact on his health.

“I will admonish the youth to engage in activities that would benefit them. Doctors have spoken against the intake of red because if you take it, you can die from it.

“We have been in the system for some time now, and there is nothing that I haven’t done. There is no strength greater than the one you have. The red, tramadol, and other stimulants are of no benefit,” he said.

Okomfour Kwadee further advised his colleagues against the intake of marijuana and other harmful substances.

According to him, foreign influence is hurting creatives, adding that they are copying blindly.

“I know the drugs are plenty in the system, but the common one right now is 225 or red… Foreign influence is also part because most of these musicians are trying to copy them blindly.

“These days, the whole thing has become like a fashion; they should note that they can’t smoke forever because it’s not helpful,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kwadee is currently staging a campaign against the use of “Red”
