The Ghana Cricket Association (GCA), in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC), has trained 13 coaches through the Refresher and ICC Level 1 Practical Assessment, designed to sharpen coaching techniques and promote best practices in the sport.

The course, held at the Achimota Cricket Grounds, marked the conclusion of the earlier mandatory ICC Online Foundation Course organised by the international body.

The team, comprising four females and nine males, was drawn from the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Central, and Volta Regions.

The course aimed to empower dedicated hub coaches with the requisite practical knowledge and to assess each of the participants on key areas such as coaching practices, basic bowling objectives, batting fundamentals, and other essential skills.

ICC’s refresher course was incorporated to recap and reset their coaching practices on the opening day, providing guidelines and terminologies surrounding coaching.

The top three performers also earned a spot to participate in the upcoming Level 1 Coaching Tutor Course to be hosted in Ghana on August 28–29, 2025, under the auspices of the International Cricket Council.

This initiative underscores the commitment of the Ghana Cricket Association to developing coaching excellence and the growth of the game.
