Ghana’s ‘favourite twins,’ Lali X Lola, delivered music and high-energy performance at the third edition of their Fire and Flow Concert on August 2, 2025, at the Alliance Française, Accra.

This year’s theme for the Fire and Flow concert, “Pepper Soup,” set the tone for an evening of variety and spice.

The music duo explained that the theme was inspired by their upcoming album, titled ‘Pepper Soup’, which drops before the end of August 2025.

According to them, the name captures their dynamism in music.

“Pepper soup has many ingredients, and that’s how our music is, a mix of calm R&B, Highlife, Afrobeat, and other flavours,” they told GhanaWeb.

Opening acts at Fire and Flow III

The night began with a lively atmosphere as the father of Ghanaian DJs, Mercury Quaye and media personality Yaa Bitha served as the MCs for the night, keeping the crowd engaged.

High School Clique opened the show with some well-coordinated dance moves that lit up the stage and had the audience cheering, especially while dancing to Medikal featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap’s hit song, “Shoulder.”

Rapper Romeo Swag followed with an intense performance, delivering his bars with confidence and drawing attention from the Hip-hop lovers in the crowd.

    Lali X Lola’s performance

When the stars of the night finally appeared, all eyes were on them. Lali X Lola stepped on stage dressed in red outfits, backed by the AfroHarmony Band, who handled the instrumentals.

Their first set featured some of their songs, performed with their signature blend of harmonies and coordinated dance moves.

After a few songs, the twins exited the stage for a quick change, and Kojo Manuel, Hypeman and MC of the Year at the last edition of the Ghana DJ Awards, took control of the crowd.

Before introducing the next segment, he created a special moment. He asked for all the stage lights to be turned off and asked attendees to switch on their phone flashlights for a tribute to the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, whose candlelight vigil was being held the same night at Independence Square.

Kojo Manuel kept the energy high with throwback hits that had fans singing along and dancing.

Then came one of Ghana’s longest-standing music duos, Keche, who performed some of their classics like “Alugutugui.”

Lali X Lola came back for their second set and turned the vibe into pure excitement.

They chatted with the crowd, answered a few questions from the MCs, and then jumped into another high-energy performance of singing, dancing, and unstoppable vibes.

    Notable guests in the crowd

The audience may not have filled the entire Alliance Française space, but the turnout proved the twins have a loyal fan base.

Familiar faces like the CEO of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah, Israel Laryea, Efya Nokturnal, Incredible Zigi, and fast-rising musicians such as Kaesa and Herman Suede were spotted in the crowd.

    Late start raises questions

The concert was advertised to start at 7 PM, but it did not officially kick off until around 9 PM.

The delay might have been due to the low early turnout, giving organisers time for more guests to arrive.

Even though the event started late, the show ended right on time at exactly 12 AM, unlike many events that drag late into the night.

    Final thoughts

Fire and Flow 2025 was not the biggest concert in terms of numbers, but it delivered on experience.

Lali X Lola gave fans what they came for: great music and a strong stage presence.

Ghana’s ‘favourite twins’ are still growing and learning in the industry, and while there’s room for improvement, their passion and energy are promising signs of what’s ahead.
