Former MP for Bantama, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has explained how a song on the late Lumba’s first album was birthed.

In a discussion on UTV, shared on TikTok on July 29, 2025, Kwabena Kokofu noted that the late Lumba’s “Aban Nsa Aka Wo” the fifth song on his “Yee Ye Aka Akwantuom” was about him.

He explained that life in Germany wasn’t easy because they lacked the necessary documentation. Hence, the release of “Aban Nsa Aka Wo”, which was about the challenges he faced while seeking greener pastures.

“There was one track on the album, and we had to suppress it. Because that song was centred on me. I told them to change something about the song because I would be one of the people who would rule Ghana one day,” he said.

The politician further recounted some interesting memories of the late Daddy Lumba and his music partner, Nana Acheampong.

“Nana Acheampong and Lumba taught me how to ride a bicycle. We went looking for a job in one of the villages in Germany. Nana Acheampong, who then had a white girlfriend, could speak German.

“So, we went around looking for jobs in the villages, but none of them gave us any. Out of frustration, while returning, we went into a farm to harvest maize,” he added.
