Ghanaian Amapiano sensation, DJ Azonto claims he has lost numerous ambassadorial opportunities as a result of Kumawood actor Dr Likee mimicking his style.

According to the “Fa No Fom” hitmaker, his fashion sense distinguishes him from all other creatives, and thus he seeks $1 billion in compensation from the popular Kumawood actor.

Speaking in an interview on Angel FM on July 22, 2025, DJ Azonto stated that he needs the money to launch a microfinance company that will help creatives, particularly TikTokers.

“I am charging Dr Likee for copying my brand. In the industry, I am the only one known for wearing female dresses, so I don’t take it lightly if someone will copy me without authorisation.

“I have lost so many ambassadorial deals due to the way he dresses in his skit-making, and that has affected my brand,” DJ Azonto said in the interview.

DJ Azonto has made the headlines recently following a similar compensation demand from Medikal and Shatta Wale over copyright infringement.

He is currently promoting his new single “One Shoulder One Cedi Tax.”
