Ghanaian musical duo Dope Nation has opened up about why they are not close to Kuami Eugene, despite previously working under the same record label.

Speaking on 3 Music TV on July 22, 2025, DopeNation alleged that Kuami Eugene lacks respect for others, claiming his fame has gone to his head.

“Every industry has that one person who feels he’s too famous, so he ends up not respecting anybody. He’s been handed everything and thinks he’s the ‘darling boy’. I know I’m speaking the truth, and a lot of people will agree with me,” they said.

“He’s sort of the industry’s ‘asshole,’ and you can’t do anything about it, so we have to accept him as he is. We knew him from the outside, but when we got in, that’s what we were told.”

The Zormizor hitmakers added that Kuami Eugene isn’t as friendly as people perceive him to be.

Despite being an adult, he is often referred to as a “spoilt child.”

“Once you meet him, you’ll get that arrogant attitude. The best thing is not to engage in instant conversation with him. In the studio, you have to stay in your space, he’s not your friend,” the duo claimed.

They continued, “A year passed, and whenever we made music, we noticed he would steal our style and beats. But you can’t complain because you’re on the same label. Even though he’s grown, he’s still tagged as a ‘spoilt child.’”
