Controversial Ghanaian pastor, Prophet Kumchacha, has once again stirred social media with claims that the Ghanaian movie industry is cursed.

Speaking on United Showbiz on July 21, 2025, Kumchacha expressed support for actress Gloria Sarfo, who recently voiced concerns about the challenges faced by actors in the industry.

According to him, the sector is plagued by internal strife.

“There is a serious curse on the movie industry and the Ghana Black Stars. The curse stems from hatred and backstabbing. We were here when LilWin premiered his movie, while he was busy promoting it, others were backstabbing him. So I applaud Gloria Sarfo for calling out creatives in the industry,” he said.

Kumchacha further argued that Nigeria’s success in the creative arts is not simply due to its large population.

“It’s not just about numbers. If we can produce good quality movies, people will definitely watch them. Quality matters more than quantity,” he emphasised.
