Ghanaian comedian Derick Kobina Bonney, popularly known as DKB, has questioned telecommunications giant MTN Ghana over what he describes as a fast-draining data bundle that does not align with his previous experience.

In a video posted on his X page on July 19, 2025, the comedian expressed concern over how quickly his internet data is being depleted.

According to him, MTN’s previous Turbonet data bundle of 92GB lasted him up to two months, even while streaming several movies and spending extended periods online. However, the new bundle offering 214GB reportedly lasted only 18 days, despite streaming just two movies.

DKB explained that with the older 92GB bundle, he was able to enjoy movies and still have enough data left for other online activities. But with the larger 214GB bundle, he claims he barely streamed two movies before the data was exhausted.

“MTN Ghana, what is the meaning of this? When the Turbonet data bundle was 92GB, I could use it for 6 weeks to 2 months. The new one you say is 214GB, I got some, and in less than three weeks, the data is finished. How can 214GB last only three weeks when 92GB lasted for two months? I bought the data on July 1 and by July 19, it was finished. MTN, please explain because I don’t understand this,” DKB said in the video.

In the caption accompanying the video, he tagged MTN Ghana and demanded an explanation.

“Hello @MTNGhana, can you please explain why the previous small data of 92GB lasted over 2 months but your new increased data of 214GB lasted only 18 days? I’m very pissed off,” he wrote.
