Veteran Ghanaian music producer Appiah Dankwah, widely known as Appietus, has credited the music industry for not only launching his career but also laying the foundation for a thriving business portfolio.

Speaking in an interview with Hitz FM on July 9, 2025, Appietus reflected on his journey through Ghana’s music scene and revealed that his career has brought him considerable financial success and recognition.

“Obviously! This same job is taking me to places and bigger stages. And I have made a big name for myself being a music producer. I have been celebrated by some Ghanaians and awarded by Ghanaians,” he shared.

According to Appietus, the revenue he’s earned from music production has allowed him to establish multiple businesses in Ghana, each contributing to his financial stability.

“I’ve made quite a good amount of money from this. I’m always thankful to God, no matter what. It was this same job that gave me the name that was able to propel my other businesses. So, I’m grateful. I am always grateful,” he said.

Appietus, whose influence helped shape the sound of Ghanaian music in the 2000s and beyond, recently set up a professional studio in the United Kingdom. He explained that his move abroad is a strategic decision aimed at expanding the reach of Ghanaian music to a global audience.

“In the UK, they have their type of genres. They have producers who are doing afrobeats and that kind of jams I was doing back then. Being here is going to be a serious thing to start Ghanaian sound to the world easily. That is one of the reasons why I am here as well,” the music producer explained.
