Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter, Moliy Ama Montgomery, has earned massive recognition in Ghana and beyond, due to her viral hit “Shake it to the Max.”

Released last year, the song has garnered over 500,000 views on YouTube and is widely considered Moliy’s biggest single to date.

Originally featuring Silent Addy, the track later received an international remix with Skillibeng and Shenseea, which propelled it to #14 on the Global Spotify Chart, amassing more than 2.8 million streams.

The catchy chorus, “Shake it to the Max”, has also sparked a dance challenge that quickly went viral, winning the hearts of many Ghanaians and igniting a cultural moment on social media.

Beyond the original and remix versions, a number of Ghanaian artistes have jumped on the beat with their own freestyles and verses, showcasing unique styles and lyrical flair.

Here are four standout Ghanaian acts who have brought extra energy to Moliy’s viral anthem:

    Stonebwoy

Afropop, Afro-dancehall, and reggae icon Stonebwoy, delivered one of the most talked-about verses on “Shake It to The Max.”

His energetic dancehall rendition titled “Bad Girl (Moliy Coco)” transformed the rhythm and vibe of the song, earning widespread praise online.

Fans applauded Stonebwoy’s ability to elevate the track with his signature chanting style and lyrical versatility, making his version a viral sensation on social media.

    Edem

Known for his unique rap style and lyrical depth, Edem, also hopped on the trend with his own freestyle.

After Stonebwoy’s verse gained traction, Edem released a compelling freestyle across his social media platforms that quickly gained momentum.

His dynamic flow and sharp delivery further proved why he’s considered one of Ghana’s most respected rap voices.

    Samini

Legendary reggae and dancehall artiste, Samini, brought his genre-bending skills to the track, blending highlife, reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop into a powerful freestyle.

His take on “Shake It to The Max” sparked excitement among fans and fellow artistes alike, with many applauding his smooth delivery and ability to keep up with the evolving soundscape.

    Archipalago

Perhaps the most unexpected addition to the wave was Archipalago, whose freestyle on the track stirred mixed reactions on social media.

While some fans praised his effort and found his style entertaining, others criticized his delivery and word choices, branding his verse as off-beat.

Regardless of opinions, Archipalago succeeded in getting people talking, proving again that in music, buzz is sometimes half the battle.

From viral dance challenges to musical reinterpretations, Moliy’s “Shake It To The Max” has evolved from a solo hit into a platform for Ghanaian artistes to showcase their creativity.

The track’s influence now spans both local and international scenes, a true testament to Moliy’s global impact and the vibrant musical talent Ghana continues to offer.
