Veteran Ghanaian gospel singer and evangelist, Diana Asamoah, has shared candid insights into her celibate lifestyle, describing it as a deliberate spiritual commitment upheld through divine strength rather than human willpower.

Speaking on her programme Akoko Abon on Angel FM, the 52-year-old singer revealed that she has never married or had children and continues to honour her vow of celibacy in service to God.

She credited her endurance to the grace of God, comparing it to the divine covering that shielded Mary, the mother of Jesus.

“I honour God. I live alone. I don’t rely on tricks, but on the strength of the Lord – the same strength He used to clothe Mary,” Evangelist Asamoah declared.

A life deeply rooted in ministry, Asamoah painted a picture of relentless devotion—frequent travels, all-night prayers, and non-stop church engagements that leave little room for rest.

“You can ask my manager, Frimprince. Whenever we travel, we’re constantly working in churches – it’s 24/7.

In the evenings, he sometimes finds me still praying and wonders why I haven’t gone to bed,” she said.

She recounted moments of sheer exhaustion, especially after long journeys from Kumasi, where she would initially cancel engagements only to call her driver back moments later, reigniting her unwavering dedication.

“The work must go on,” she emphasized, attributing her resilience to divine intervention.

Despite her steadfast commitment, Diana Asamoah’s celibate life has often attracted public scrutiny.

Some critics have speculated that her choice stems from social or personal shortcomings.

However, the celebrated evangelist dismissed these claims, affirming that her decision is deeply spiritual and purpose-driven.

For over two decades, Diana Asamoah has remained a formidable voice in Ghana’s gospel scene, known not only for her powerful songs but also for her unwavering faith and unapologetic approach to ministry.

Her testimony offers a glimpse into a life of quiet sacrifice and enduring faith—lived not to please man, but to honour God.
