Ghanaian artiste Stay Jay is setting the record straight: he’s far from done. Despite speculation about his career slowing down, the “Shashee Wowo” hitmaker insists he’s only just getting started.

In a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, Stay Jay rejected any notion of retirement. “They can go to sleep. My career is very much active. I’ve learned, I’ve grown and I’m now more prepared than ever to embrace and face the world,” he stated confidently.

Marking his return, the rapper has released Baajo, a vibrant Amapiano single that channels joy and celebration. The title, meaning “come and dance” in Ga, perfectly encapsulates the track’s energy, it’s a sonic invitation to move, wherever you are.

More than just a song, Baajo is a cultural fusion. Stay Jay weaves the percussive essence of Amapiano with his signature Twi Pop style, creating a sound that bridges South African beats with Ghanaian flavor, one that’s tailor-made for dance floors across the continent.

The song, produced by SkyBeatz and running two minutes and forty-eight seconds, layers log drums with soulful rhythms and uplifting chants that make it near-impossible to stay still.

Stay Jay shared that the track emerged from a spontaneous moment of joy:
“I was at a gathering with friends, and the energy was just beautiful. Everyone was dancing, laughing and living in the moment. That feeling of connection, that’s what I wanted to bottle up and share with the world.”

Designed for universal appeal, Baajo speaks to joy in its purest form. “Whether you’re at a beach party, a roadside bar or dancing in your room, Baajo is crafted to lift moods and spark joy,” he added.

With momentum building, the artiste isn’t stopping there. He’s preparing to release a multi-track EP to further showcase his evolution and versatility.

“I’m in the process of putting together an EP that showcases a variety of sounds and themes, and I’m really excited about how it’s shaping up and also about dropping my two-pack albums,” he revealed.
