The Public Relations Officer of Burniton Music Group, Vida Adutwumwaa, has addressed recent criticisms surrounding dancehall artiste Stonebwoy’s decision to unfollow Nigerian social media influencer, Peller.
It will be recalled that Stonebwoy appeared in a live TikTok session with Peller ahead of his UK concert on March 8, 2025, where he even invited Peller to join him on his album tour.
The interaction sparked controversy online, with some social media users criticising Stonebwoy for choosing to associate with a Nigerian influencer over Ghanaian content creators.
Peller later revealed in a separate live TikTok session that Stonebwoy had unfollowed him, speculating it was due to his recent interactions with Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale.
Responding to the allegations, Vida Adutwumwaa clarified in an interview with Onua FM on April 10, 2025, that Stonebwoy does not personally manage his social media accounts.
“We have a crew that handles Stonebwoy‘s social media accounts. So, at any point, two or more people are handling our accounts, and there won’t be a report of everything that happens on social media.
She further explained that the social media team only reports major issues to the artiste, and their primary focus is to promote his music and brand.
“The main thing we post on the social media handle is his music, and things centred around promoting him. We only report to him if there is a big issue that requires his approval.
“As to who we follow and unfollow is up to the team and we don’t have a meeting on who to follow and unfollow. Also, if the artiste wants to have a relationship with a certain personality, we can choose to follow or unfollow but it doesn’t have anything to do with a certain artiste,” she added.
