Another user said: ‘I’m not having a good day – BT is back working but now Ocado is down (they are working on it) & I only have till 5.30 to do my order for tomorrow! Technology is a wonderful thing…’

In response, the company has issued a personal apology to most of the posts.

A spokesperson responded to one comment: ‘Hey, We’re so sorry you’re experiencing issues with our website right now.

‘We understand how frustrating this can be, and we truly appreciate your patience.

‘Our team is working hard to get everything back up and running smoothly. We’re hoping to have the site back online soon.’

It comes as an outgoing outage means thousands of BT customers are reportedly unable to access BT email services.

On its website, BT has apologised to impacted customers and said it is ‘investigating the cause’. Other services including Broadband, TV and mobile packages appear to be unaffected.

A BT spokesperson told The Metro : ‘We’re aware that some BT email customers are unable to access their email on webmail and via the app.

‘We’re investigating the cause of this and we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.’

‘Alternatively, customers can switch off wifi and use mobile data to access their email. No other BT service is impacted.’

One user wrote: ‘I can’t even put into words how angry and upset I am with [BT] just now, absolute nightmare and extremely unhelpful.’

Many customers expressed their frustrations at BT’s lack of visible communication about the status of their service.
