Ghanaian playwright and media personality, George Quaye, has shared his perspective on the habit of discussing people’s failed marriages on media platforms.
In a recent Facebook post, George Quaye said he used to avoid topics about marriage or divorce during his time on radio and television.
According to him, those who are outside of marriage would never truly understand the complexities of such situations better than those who are in it.
“When I was on radio/TV… I always avoided issues concerning marriage/divorce. No amount of talk will ever make sense. You’ll never understand it better than those in or out of it,” he posted.
This statement comes in the wake of the shocking announcement of the dissolution of marriage between Apostle Solomon Oduro and his wife, Rev. Charlotte Oduro.
Apostle Solomon Oduro, the General Overseer of the Royal Victory Family Church, officially announced the dissolution of his marriage to Rev. Charlotte Oduro, a well-known marriage counsellor, after three years of separation.
In a statement released on February 10, 2025, Apostle Oduro cited irreconcilable differences and emphasised that the decision followed extensive efforts to reconcile.
Shortly after the announcement of the divorce, Rev. Charlotte Oduro has faced massive criticism online, particularly from netizens who have questioned her inability to save her marriage despite her role as a counsellor.
Others have also cautioned couples to be cautious when seeking relationship advice from public figures who frequently offer guidance.
