Former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, and two other officials of Nsoatreman F.C. are set to appear in court today, February 4, 2025, over the death of Kotoko supporter Yaw Frimpong, also known as Pooley.

According to sports journalist Saddick Adams, the hearing forms part of efforts by the Ghana Police Service to expedite the case.

The two other suspects are Agyemang Duah Owusu, owner of Nsoatreman, and team official Kyeremeh Joseph, who were arrested by the Ghana Police Service to aid investigations.

The suspects will have the opportunity to defend themselves against the charges and necessary steps will be taken by the police afterward.

A police search of Agyemang Duah Owusu’s residence retrieved two dresses with suspected bloodstains and an MP 23 pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition, intensifying the probe into the deadly altercation.

To fast-track the case, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters has deployed a special team to assist the Bono Regional Police Command in uncovering the full details surrounding the violence.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have suspended the use of Nana Konamansah Park and taken disciplinary measures against both clubs.
