A 35-year-old man who allegedly butchered his son to death has been shot dead at Antwirifo, near Dormaa Ahenkro, in the Dormaa Municipality of the Ahafo Region.
According to the police, the suspect reportedly attacked his son over an undisclosed matter.
In an attempt to flee the scene, the suspect was shot by an unnamed customs officer, leading to his death.
When the police arrived, both the victim and the suspect were found lying in pools of blood.
The District Police Commander has been informed, and further investigations are underway.
Efforts are being made to dispatch investigators to the site for a thorough investigation of this tragic event.
