Bechem United secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over FC Samartex 1996 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Sunday to maintain their perfect home record in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League.
Augustine Okrah opened the scoring for the Hunters in the 39th minute, finishing off a Kelvin Appiah assist to give the hosts a deserved lead.
Samartex responded after the break, with Gabriel Osei restoring parity in the 57th minute.
However, Bechem had the final say as substitute Dennis Modzaka scored deep into stoppage time (90+5) to snatch all three points for the home side.
The victory extends Bechem United’s winning run at home to five matches this season, underlining their impressive form at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
The result further strengthens the Hunters’ reputation as one of the toughest teams to beat on home soil, while Samartex suffered a setback in their bid to maintain their position at the top of the league standings.
For the Timber Giants, the defeat is a disappointing outcome after fighting back to level the scores, as they look to quickly return to winning ways in their pursuit of a strong league campaign.
