US-based Ghanaian journalist and social commentator Kevin Taylor has called on GHOne TV to dismiss broadcaster and lawyer Serwaa Amihere following her recent advice to young women against buying counterfeit designer products.
Taylor made the call while speaking on his Loud Silence platform, where he questioned Serwaa’s credibility and criticised her comments about women who purchase fake luxury items to create an impression of wealth.
According to Taylor, the broadcaster was not in a position to lecture young women about buying counterfeit designer products, alleging that she had also used fake designer items before she could afford the original versions.

He reportedly referred to old photographs of Serwaa to support his argument, accusing her of criticising young women over a practice he claimed she had previously engaged in herself.
Taylor further argued that many Ghanaians cannot afford the original versions of the expensive brands Serwaa mentioned and should not be judged for their financial limitations.
Taking his criticism further, Taylor urged GHOne TV to terminate Serwaa Amihere’s employment over the comments she made at a recent women’s conference.
He argued that the broadcaster’s remarks were inappropriate, particularly given the financial realities facing many young people who admire luxury fashion brands but cannot afford them.
Taylor also made a controversial remark about Serwaa’s teeth, claiming that she wears artificial teeth and questioning whether they guarantee fresh breath.
His comments have introduced a more personal dimension to the debate, which initially centred on the affordability of designer products and the pressure young women face to maintain a particular image.
