Boxing returns to Managua, Nicaragua, this Friday, September 18, with an event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Convention Center featuring eleven professional bouts. The main event pits former Nicaraguan WBC world champion Cristofer Jordan Rosales González (38-8, 23 KOs) against 27-year-old Venezuelan Isaac Arias (18-3, 14 KOs) in an eight-round contest. Dubbed “Puños Patrios” (Patriotic Fists) in reference to Nicaragua ‘s independence on September 15, 1821, the event is supported by the national government.
Also in an eight-round bout, undefeated Nicaraguan female star Roxana Mendoza (10-0, 2 KOs) will face Colombian Paola Rincón (8-4, 5 KOs) 31 age, who has previously faced Mexican former world champions Irma García and Mariana Juárez, as well as Panamanian superstar Nataly Delgado.
