Ghanaian actress and television personality Nana Ama McBrown has publicly acknowledged Shatta Wale’s support for her latest film, Ama, saying the dancehall star’s gesture left her genuinely pleased.
McBrown said she was particularly touched after noticing that Shatta Wale had taken to social media to promote the movie around the time of its premiere. His posts on X and Facebook attracted considerable attention and added to the conversation surrounding the film.
Reflecting on the moment, McBrown said Shatta Wale’s support was meaningful because of the longstanding respect and affection between them.
“I really want to appreciate Shatta because when the Ama premiere came, I was there and I saw that he had tweeted on X and Facebook, and it was trending. I have known for a long time that Shatta loves me a lot and respects me, so I was very happy when I saw it. Yeah, I was very happy about it,” she said.
The gesture also reminded McBrown of the relationship they have built over the years, which she described as rooted in mutual support.
She made it clear that Shatta Wale can expect the same level of backing from her whenever he embarks on a project or needs her presence.
“He knows whenever he needs me for whatever he’s doing, I will go and support him too,” she further stated.
Shatta Wale was among the public figures who threw their weight behind Ama ahead of its premiere, using his social media platforms to draw attention to the project.
His endorsement came at a time when publicity was building around the film, giving McBrown another reason to appreciate the support from one of Ghana’s biggest music personalities.
